Natasha Flowers, Adolescent Literacy Specialist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, taught We’ve Got a Job in her students’ 6th-grade English Language Arts class. At our panel at the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) convention in November 2011, she explained how much the class learned from the book. And, Natasha generously allowed me to share her lesson plans, which are keyed to the Alabama curriculum standards (ACOS).

And, not only that but Sharon O’Neal, also an extraordinary teacher, at Texas State University and at the Round Rock Higher Education Center, used We’ve Got a Job to show her graduate students how to use it with 4th-graders. Check out her fantastic lesson plan, too.

And, here are a few of the results from students who have studied We’ve Got a Job. Christa Armantrout’s (very) Talented and Gifted fourth-graders in Round Rock, Texas wrote Poetry Reflections. (They also developed the video trailer!)
